The Eisenhower matrix
The Eisenhower matrix or method discovered by Dwight Eisenhower is a method for organizing duties and tasks to figure out priorities. But first, let me tell you a story.
Once a young man went to Socrates and said: “show me the key to be successful”.
Socrates asked the young man to come back somewhere close to the river tomorrow morning. The boy did. When they went to the river Socrates was a grown man with huge shape but the boy wasn’t.
Suddenly Socrates pushed the boy’s head into the water and didn’t let him out.
The boy was struggling, couldn’t save himself. Socrates didn’t let go. Finally, after the boy’s face color was going to purple, he could save himself and come up.
Socrates asked him: “What were you looking for down there?”
He said: “Air to breath.”
Socrates said: “If all people looked for success like they are looking for air underwater, they would be successful”.

Learn the Eisenhower matrix and make priority in your plans.
But the truth is that we don’t. we always say: “OK, we will reach there. Let’s start on Monday. Oh no… Let’s start in September. This year, the weather wasn’t quite well, I promise I will start the next year”, and so on.
Let me tell you its way. Stephen Covey said there are two kinds of works. Some are urgent and some, not.
He said that your tasks even divide into two based on their value. Whether they are important or not. A complete model of this explanation is the Eisenhower matrix.
The Eisenhower matrix can be explained in this one picture:

The Eisenhower matrix shows us the four kinds of duty we have.
A task that is important and urgent is essential and we must do in as soon as possible. For example, your appendix aches so you go to the hospital immediately.
Some tasks are unimportant and not urgent but most of the people are wasting their time in this part. for example, Instagram, twitter and generally social media. Don’t say you want to be aware of the up to date news all around the world. You can do that by not using social media too. but when you are a businessman who earns money with social media, using it for work is exceptional.
And remember that having fun or going out with your friends is not unimportant. You must have fun and its category is on important tasks. Some people can’t even have fun hours to refresh themselves.
One important task that is not urgent is analyzing ourselves. You have to ask yourself: “How many opportunities have I lost because I didn’t have the skill or I didn’t know how to communicate? How many people should I have to become friend with but I didn’t?”
Don’t think that communicating and being friendly with others is not important. For example, imagine you are an ordinary public speaker. You go to a seminar and the person sitting next to you invites you to have a presentation for 1000 audience. Imagine what will happen if you accept that and what if you don’t?
Also, you can analyze the repeated actions and events in your life and try to change them into something new creatively.

Write down your plans and decide which one is more important with the help of the Eisenhower matrix
I have seen many people who didn’t want to speak in the crowd because they were shy or nervousness overcame them.
So you need to divide your tasks and prioritize them like The Eisenhower matrix. there are urgent and important works that must be done immediately. One of the essential and not urgent tasks is to analyze yourself. This part will help you grow.
Finally, try to find what works are not urgent and unimportant to you. then eliminate and replace them with some fantastic exciting useful tasks. Then and only then you can expect yourself to be successful.
