Who has a charismatic personality?
In a short answer, we can say charisma means a series of traits and behaviors that make someone’s personality attractive, inspiring and effective. But maybe it’s not that simple to explain charisma definition literally and the charismatic personality which we will work on that in this article.
I’m sure you are not looking for a unique definition for charisma because you probably won’t find one. It may not be a bad idea to present an explanation for it from Kurt W. Mortensen’s book named Laws of Charisma:
Sometimes we don’t have a straight meaning for charisma. What does charisma mean? It may consider being a mysterious feature. It’s not a willing or an amusement. It’s not a specific personality or a public one. (although these features are all included in charisma collection.)

charismatic personality is bout some traits which make us more reliable.
When you confront charismatic people, you easily know them. They are stunning in public.
We feel honored to be around these people. Charisma is not about being attractive, loyal, lovely or amusing. It’s about the trust the audience will have around you and how comfortable they are. It also causes reliability.
American Heritage Dictionary defines charisma in one sentence:
Charisma is some rare, personal attributes in leaders which make the audience feel loyal, willing and attracted.
But the writer of this book says:
Charisma is your ability to easily communicate, be effective, inspire others to be more successful and make them be your loyal followers.
In another word, charisma means having the ability to make others do what we want and even convince others around them to do so.
Is having a charismatic personality adventitious?
I’m sure you don’t expect me to say being charismatic is innate and you can’t gain it.
Olivia Fox Cabane who worked a lot on charisma field explains it in one of her presentations:
Some people may be naturally charismatic, but charisma is a set of behaviors, skills, and traits that unlike most people’s thoughts can be taught.
She explained lengthy about it in her book, The charisma Myth-chapter 13. One of the most exciting topics she wrote about is what does a charismatic person’s like?
In her book, she explains some practices and ways to have a charismatic personality.

it’s better to have charismatic personality to affect others.
For whom is it profitable?
First, we have to ask ourselves that is it necessary to have a charismatic personality? My personal opinion is:
If we have a purpose and we want to be memorable, we need people to accompany us in this path and charisma can make that happen.
But if we don’t need to be charismatic, as Bill Gates says: if we can’t do something in our best way, at least we can do it in a way that seems perfect.
So knowing the charisma skills and benefit them is crucial with no doubt and it will help us in every aspect of our lives, personal life, social life or business life.
