In this graph the more you go up, you experience more challenges and the more you go to the right, the more you learn some skills. So when you go up and right, it means high challenge and high skills.
Some jobs need fewer skills but have less challenge. These kinds of jobs are boring for us. they will make us tired.
Some jobs have more challenges but fewer skills. They will make us worried. Why? Because we have no skills but the job is challenging for us. it will be a disaster. You ask yourself: “can I handle it?” imagine you don’t have the skill to manage a meeting and the boss sends to a meeting. You will be concerned.
The same as the previous paragraphs, you can interpret the graph too. But the most important part is when you have skills and the job is challenging for you. here, you enjoy your job.
For example, you want to be a public speaker. If you have a big presentation and you are a good presenter, you will enjoy your job, you won’t even notice how time flies in your presentation. but when you don’t have enough skills, you will be nervous in this situation.
Now imagine a boring job that has no challenge. For example, you have to wrap up boxes every day or push a button. It even doesn’t need a specific skill. This is a job that you will get tired of after a while.

And remember that even an exciting job has its times where you don’t experience a challenge. For example, I love presenting. It makes me excited and joyful but creating its PowerPoint presentation slides has no challenge for me because I have learned the skill to do so a long time ago.
