Everything about hearing senses
One of the most critical factors in rhetoric is hearing senses and our ears. In this article, I want to explain some practices to enhance your hearing abilities and have a better tone and voice.
Necessity of rhetoric
The first thing to learn vocal abilities and rhetoric is to focus on our ears. We all learned to talk with the help of our ears. Every child hears what’s around him and people talking and tries to repeat the same words. Then with some mistakes and practices, they learn how to speak. Here, we are going to improve our hearing senses.
Brain activity for intonation and rhetoric

Improve your hearing senses by listening to the sounds around you.
It may be interesting for you to know that our brain likes to repeat and imitate the sounds our ears hear (especially the ones we notice more).
You may have heard a nasal sound from someone because he caught a cold for two weeks. Even after he becomes well, his brain has gotten used to that nasal sound and still tries to imitate that. So your voice may stay that way! (don’t worry, I have some practices for that too. I will share it in other articles).
The importance of ears
As we said, our brain likes to imitate the sounds our ears hear around us, so it’s essential to listen to them very carefully. People don’t pay attention to this delicate matter, but with these simple practices, you can improve your hearing senses. I hope you don’t ignore them because you think they are simple.
1- Listen to others very carefully
Let’s be honest! We mostly are thinking about what we are going to say next instead of listening to the other party when we are talking to someone.

Try to listen to the sounds around you and distinguish between them to improve your hearing senses
It’s a massive disaster because first, we don’t understand what they are saying, and second, our speaking skills won’t improve!
so, listen to people around you, especially people who are an expert in talking and very good at rhetoric. Consider these factors in their speakings:
1- The loudness of their voice
2- The changes in their tone
3- The way their mouth opens and closes
4- Their facial expressions
5- The bass of their voice
2- Notice the sound details and distinguish between all kinds of sounds
You have to teach your ears how to listen. Go to a crowded place and try to pay attention to the most unusual sounds. Distinguish between all the sounds around you. How many voices can you hear?
Listen to this sound below and see how many sounds you can hear. Focus on the voices.
After several weeks of practice, you see how improved your hearing senses are with these simple methods.
