Learn to talk to strangers
Presenting and public speaking in front of a crowd who we don’t know has always been a challenge to us. So everyone asks how to talk to strangers?
The fact is that speaking with strangers is a skill to be taught and learned.
In this article, we teach you how to use action ways to talk to strangers as we have pointed out briefly in audience analysis.
How to talk to strangers when you don’t know them?
1- Have knowledge
You have to have enough knowledge and even more. When you are presenting in front of strangers, and they precisely know what you are talking about, they may get tired and bored, but if you have new and extra information, you can use them.
2- Reliable sources
If someone very talented and aware asks you about something you are talking about, you need to have a reliable source to refer to so that you can impress that high leveled person. For example, you can say: “I suggest you read this book for more information.”
This way, the person who knows too much can use that book and reference and be satisfied.
3- Ask questions
Decide what level they are in by asking some questions when you enter the hall. It helps you understand in which level your audience is. Then, you can match your words, tenses, and level with them.
Make a fluid PowerPoint presentation. Your slides mustn’t have all the details. They have to include the titles and essential subjects. Use more pictures.
5- Value the audience
When you first enter the hall, talk to the audience the way that they can understand their value and position.
As a presenter, you have to ask some of the audience to come on the stage and talk about the subject. If you teach marketing, selling, etc. you can ask them to talk about one of their experiences or what they already know.
I guarantee that if you attend to these tips, a considerable amount of your fear decreases.
