You should know your area of expertise to grow
If you want to find out what your area of expertise is, you have to know what education and learning mean and what advantages they have for us.
What is education?
Some people are not satisfied with what they have. They want a change. We, as teachers, help them to build a bridge, cross it, and reach the other side (what they truly want). Education has many advantages, such as:
1- It saves our time because the time we have to spend on learning by making mistakes and learning from it will be saved by educating and the teachers’ experience.
2- It causes us to make fewer mistakes.
3- Educations causes us to do our job better than before.
The story of money-pot
You can use a piggy-bank to put your ideas of area of expertise.
In the next 12-21 days ahead write any matter you face, such as fear, obligation, dream, and trouble on a paper and drop it into a money-pot and call it your “idea-pot.”
After these 21 days, you will have a list of fears, troubles, obligations, and dreams that you can consider them as education, which you will be its teacher.
These topics are the ones that attracted your attention so you can choose them, try to research about them and teach them to the other people.
If you become an expert in a subject, people will want to learn from you and increase their knowledge about it. Some of these topics can be as following:
– Fear of public speaking
– Obligation to learn another language
– The problem of divorces
– The issue of finding a job for amateurs
– Correct behavior in media
– The difficulties of housewives that have a job
– Laziness at work
– …
The most important thing in finding your expertise is that you have to love it. Willingly doing your job is what makes you successful. People passionate about their job can be 3 or 4 years ahead of the ones who have a resume of 10-15 years.
Of course, it’s not right for everyone! There are some exceptions.
How can you know that your topic is in your interest?
You will know what is the true area of expertise for you when you willing to teach even without getting paid.
1- The topic has to mean for you. You have to work on it without any expectations.
2- Ask yourself this question: “would I still be doing this if I had a billion dollars?”
3- Imagine your position in ten years.

What should you have to do when you find yourself much expertise?
In the past, some scientists knew many things. The science was not that extended, so one person knew about math, astronomy, and philosophy at the same time. Then the time passed, and experts showed up: people who are the best at their one expertise.
If you have several fields you are interested in, try to merge them into one area of expertise.
Now if you are interested in two things, for example, psychology and selling at the same time, you can teach selling or marketing psychology and even create a new name for it. This way more people would be interested.
Do you have to work generally or partially?
Many people ask me this question: do I have to choose big markets or small and more specialized ones?
The time to work on one thing has finished. You have to choose one specialized topic and extend it after some time. For example, someone selects public speaking as an area of expertise and then extends it to personal development, rhetoric, managing time, etc.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
People always think that the subject they have chosen is not as good as the other people have. The truth is you don’t see the hardships of other people’s job and think theirs is much easier and yours is the hardest of all.
If you love your area of expertise and you work on it passionately, you become successful.
